Nurse Mampak Nanre, born into the family of Mampak Nden from Kwanpe village in Langtang North LGA of Plateau State, was inspired to establish OSI-NMAN Foundation through her daily experiences in healthcare.

In her work, she encountered patients facing not only illness but also neglect, poverty, and lack of support. While caring for the elderly, she witnessed loneliness, abandonment, and limited access to basic needs. Her work with cancer patients exposed her to the physical, psychological, emotional, and financial burdens of long-term treatment—often without adequate family or community support.

Her compassion was further deepened by her encounters with orphans, who made up over 20% of her community population between 2002 and 2006 due to religious crises in Southern Plateau State, Nigeria. Many of these children lacked stable support systems and access to education from 2007 to date.

These experiences ignited in her a strong desire to go beyond bedside care by creating a platform that provides holistic support—medically, emotionally, socially, and educationally. Through OSI-NMAN Foundation, she has supported orphans with scholarships in technical fields, provided food relief to the elderly, and delivered cancer information, education, screening, and care navigation to rural communities.
